Ethiopia’s State Minister of Health Addresses Africa’s Health Challenges at Global Forum in Beijing

On July 17, 2024, H.E. Dr. Dereje Duguma, Ethiopia’s State Minister of Health, delivered a keynote speech at the Opening Ceremony and Plenary of the 3rd Global Health Forum of the Boao Forum for Asia in Beijing, China.
Dr. Duguma highlighted Africa’s critical juncture in its quest for health and well-being, acknowledging the continent’s significant challenges and opportunities in creating resilient, equitable, and sustainable health systems.
He noted Ethiopias new Health Policy, which adopts the Health in All Policies approach to ensure inclusivity. Africa remains united in its determination to build back better he added. H.E. Ambassador Terefa Derbew, head of the mission also attended the event.
